Whatever you choose, I want you to embrace this moment and celebrate that you’re alive and well in this moment. Feel grateful for this practice… appreciate that you’re taking this time for yourself.

It’s so important that we recognise the positives in our lives and remember to be grateful to ourselves and others for all the enriching experiences we can have.

Keep breathing in… and out… slowly bring awareness back to the present. Gently open your eyes, keep following your inhale… and exhale.

Imagine you’re breathing in all the positive energy around you… allow your mind to drift, just focus on your breath… and out.

Breathe out all your worries and doubts… release any tension you may be carrying from the day thus far.

Now gently bring your awareness back to the world around you. Keep following your breath in… and out. Allow your eyes to flutter open as you focus back on the present, breathing in… and out. Great job, now let’s get started with…

Now, as you’re standing here I want you to feel the strength moving through your body… imagine that mountain strength building and moving through you, allowing it to fill you from head to toe.

Think about how strong you feel right now, how in control you are of yourself. Bring this strength into yourself, let it turn into confidence as you stand assured of your own place.

Right here in this moment, you are untouchable. Breathe in with purpose and imagine bringing this feeling into yourself little by little. Let the confidence you feel right now influence the way you approach the rest of your day.

Your confidence grows with you, you just have to let it… and believe in yourself, a little bit more every day.

Think to yourself, ‘I am stronger than I was yesterday, and I will be stronger tomorrow.’ Repeat this every time you have doubts… be kind to yourself and remember you always have room to grow.

You have all the tools to do it, I believe in you… now you just need to let yourself feel it like you do every time you step onto the mat.

Feel your connection with the ground, how does your mat feel against your body? How does the light feel on your eyelids, can you feel the air on your skin… 

Taking the time every day to notice different sensations is a great way to orient yourself in the world and take a mental moment to check in with yourself.

Remember, gently inhale in… and out… allow your breathing to guide you to a place of stillness as you reflect on today’s practice.

Keep breathing, in… and out… now slowly bring yourself back to full awareness, breathing steadily all the while.

Inhale, 2,3… and exhale. Remember to follow this rhythm as we send the mind inwards, checking over the sensations of our body until we can come to rest in a place of stillness.

As we relax into this posture, I want to congratulate all of you for making it to the mat today. It’s not always easy to take this time for ourselves, so I want you to take a moment to celebrate this achievement.

Too often we concentrate on the big events in our lives and forget to appreciate the small successes we make every day. You woke up, you made it here and that is something to be proud of.

So I want you to take a minute here and reflect on other successes in your life, big or small… whether that’s a great day at your job… you’ve completed a project… finished a chore… or even finished that show you were watching.

You should take pride in everything you do and everything you’ve achieved so far!

By recognising the small successes we make each day, we’re setting the groundwork for future achievements. Each time you complete an intention or goal, you’re one step closer to success.

But I can hear you thinking, what about failure? What if I don’t complete my to-do list or fail at a new activity? 

Well, that’s OK too. Every single failure in your life is a new experience and a chance to learn from your mistakes.

Remember, success is not the absence of failure but the eventual culmination of everything you’ve learnt in the process.

Think back on a time when you made a mistake or didn’t succeed how you wanted to. Don’t judge your past self, but look at the overall experience. What did it teach you?

By acknowledging your losses without judgement, you’re in a better place to remember the lessons you learnt… and more likely to succeed in the future!

Again, collecting your anxiety, your worries on the inhale… hold… and out again through the mouth, hear the hiss of them leaving your mouth.

You’re doing amazing, now keep going and repeat it, in… and out…

Great job! Allow this feeling of calm to sweep through your mind, recognise and embrace it…

Try to keep this with you as you step off the mat today as you approach each task with a calm certainty that you are brilliant and you’ve got this! Thank you.

In this savasana script, as the yoga teacher you’re encouraging students to recognise their anxiety and sit with it for a moment, before having them expel it. 

This type of visualisation is a healthy way for your students to deal with their emotions without becoming too attached to each one. This prevents them from lingering on each thought, and mitigates against yoga burnout.

Instead, they can be more objective and even sit with a particular worry for several breath cycles until they’re ready to let go.

Another advantage with this type of guided relaxation in savasana is your script as yoga teachers doesn’t need to be too long either – making it perfect for beginners.

#10 – Yoga Relaxation Script For Mental Clarity

The main difference here is you can play around with different visualisations until you find one that promotes the best version of mental stillness for your class.

Now you’ve come to a place of stillness, take a minute to slow down your breathing. Concentrate on each inhale… hold… and exhale again. Keep going as you feel your heartbeat returning to normal and your body relaxing further.

Great work. Now I want you to let your mind drift for a moment as you relax… close your eyes… relish in this period of stillness.

[Pause for several breath cycles.]

OK, moving forwards I want you to bring your awareness back slowly to a place where you can hear me and concentrate on my voice.

Here, I want you to imagine you can see a trickle of water, like drops from a tap… Great, now hold this image in your head. Time each drop with your breath, and feel each moment as a drip of water.

Now I want you to slowly feed your thoughts into the drops… whatever comes floating through your mind, any distractions you feel… let them be consumed by the water.

As each thought is caught I want you to imagine the trickle getting bigger… watch as it grows into a stream, then a river, and even further into a huge wave. Imagine the water clearing your mind of everything distracting you at this moment.

Bring this wave to the forefront of your mind, make it everything you can see… and hold it there. Feel the refreshing cool of the water filling you up and let it strengthen and renew you.

[Pause for 2 breath cycles]

Now, slowly let it ebb away… watch as the water drains away, taking all your distractions with it until your mind is a clean and empty space ready for the rest of the day ahead.

Hold onto this clarity as you bring your mind back to the present, as you slowly start shaking your arms and legs… as you bring yourself into a seated position.

Of course, you can change the image here. We chose water because of its connotations with clarity and focus, but you could just as easily visualise a candle flame or plant life.

It’s easy to take inspiration from the natural world with this type of guided meditation script and as yoga teachers, this feeds in with the concepts of providing a connection with the wider world.

Encouraging mental clarity in your sessions is a great way to help your students healthily regain their focus, so this is definitely a yoga relaxation script theme to consider.

#11 – Yoga Relaxation Script For Body Awareness

Feel your spine flat against the floor, tuck your pelvis if you need to… feel where the floor meets the back of your body and how it supports you through this meditation practice.

Now onto the arms, wiggle your fingers a little before letting your hands relax, palms facing the sky… arms out as wide as you need, sink into the ground with your elbows and shoulders until you can be still.

Feel your chest and stomach rise with each inhale… let the exhale sink you deeper into this calm state.

Rest your head softly on the mat, tuck your chin slightly to give you a beautiful extension through the neck and spine. Relax your facial muscles… close your eyes… rest here for a moment, relish in the stillness of your body.

[Pause for several breath cycles.]

Now we’re going to go in reverse. Bring awareness back to the face, down the neck… into your chest and arms.

Feel the energy travel down your spine… stretch out your legs and flex your feet as you come back to the present… now with one last full body stretch… hold it… and release, moving back into a seated position.

This is just a brief example of the kind of savasana scripts yoga teachers can use to explore the ideas of body awareness through meditation, but you can be as detailed or as brief as you want.
