Course Overview
Our Level 2 Gym Instructor course has been adapted to provide students with all the essential industry-standard knowledge and skills needed to have a successful career in the booming fitness industry.
Our award-winning training prepares students for a career as a fitness instructor including being able to plan, instruct and evaluate gym-based classes.

Course Length: Students studying full-time will complete the course over 2 weeks. Those learning part-time and online can learn at their own pace, with an average completion time of 6 and 8 weeks.
Entry Requirements: There are no formal entry requirements for this course. However, students must be aged 16 and over.

If your course has been paid in full, your certificate will be requested from the awarding body. This typically takes between 6-8 weeks, but you will receive an internal Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification in the meantime.
If you’re on a payment plan, your certificate will be dispatched once your balance has been cleared. If you wish to receive your certificate sooner, you can pay your remaining balance upfront at no extra cost.

There are 3 study methods to choose from for our Level 2 Fitness Instructing course: Full-time, Part-time, and Online.
If you choose to study full-time, you’ll attend an OriGym centre from Monday to Friday, 9am-5:30pm over 2 weeks. During this time, you’ll be taught by our expert tutors in a classroom-like environment and attend a specialist personal training studio for practical learning and assessments.
If you opt to complete your fitness training courses online, you’ll learn via our interactive learning platform which is made up of an extensive range of resources, including online lectures, interactive quizzes, and eBooks. You will also have unlimited access to the support of our in-house tutors, who are here 7 days a week to answer any questions you might have about the course. This support is available over the phone, via email, and by our instant chat box service.
Our part-time course combines online and practical learning by providing students full access to our award-nominated interactive learning platform and unlimited support from our expert tutors, as well as the opportunity to attend regular practical workshops at one of the 12 OriGym venues located across the UK.
No prior qualifications are required to study the Level 2 Gym Instructor course. It is specifically designed to be an entry-level qualification for anybody wanting to work in the fitness industry.
A basic level of Maths and English are required to understand the course content and as there are some practical elements, a basic level of physical fitness is necessary.
As with all OriGym courses, students must be aged 16 years or older to enrol.

This course is delivered via our award-nominated eLearning Platform. You will gain access to a series of interactive modules, quizzes, e-books and lectures to support your studies. The only time a student’s physical attendance is needed is during one final practical assessment.
Our online courses are entirely self-paced, meaning students can take as little or as long as they require to complete the qualification. Despite working virtually, online students will also have constant support from our team of dedicated tutors via phone, email, or chatbox!
With this entry level qualification, you will be able to work in a gym or fitness centre as an instructor. You will be qualified to fulfil duties such as working on the gym floor offering feedback to members, hosting inductions, as well as regularly planning and leading workout classes.
